Gehry Residence
The Gehry Residence is a manifesto of nascent deconstructivism. Gehry enveloped an existing colonial house with a new structure, using raw, industrial materials: corrugated metal, chain-link fencing, plywood, and unconventional glass. This radical approach breaks architectural conventions, creating a dialogue between the old and the new, the finished and the unfinished. It is here that Gehry began to refine his signature, characterized by fragmented forms and an 'unfinished' aesthetic.
